Summer Research
As a chemistry major, you may be invited to participate in the Summer Science Research Program, which funds collaborative research projects conducted during 10-week summer sessions. Last summer, two rising sophomores worked with Professor Anne Marteel-Parrish on a green chemistry project, while Professor Leslie Sherman involved students in a soil chemistry project investigating the effects of grassland burns at nearby Chino Farms. In addition to making poster presentations of your work at the end of the summer http://news.washcoll.edu/events/2007/08/chemistryresearch/ chemistry students also present during the academic year at national and regional meetings of scientific societies and organizations, including the American Chemical Society.
